Evaluating family support for children with FASD: A comparison of the PuP program and ALERT®
A randomised controlled trial is being carried out comparing the PuP program (Adapted for children with FASD) and The Alert® program, an evidence-based intervention for fostering children's self-regulatory capacity. Both aim to improve child and family functioning. The project is ongoing and we hope to have some data available in early 2024.

Qualitative evaluation of PuP animations with CAAC
A partnership between CAAC, ITalk studios and Dr Carmen Cubillo (Healing Circle Psychology) has created a series of video animations that address the three key threads of the PuP framework. We are currently carrying out qualitative research to learn how the animations are being received by parents and practitioners.

Assessment and diagnosis of children aged 3-7 with prenatal alcohol exposure
We are conducting research related to assessment, diagnosis and family support for children with prenatal alcohol exposure who are at risk of FASD.

Kummara Domestic and Family Violence Project
The research, a collaboration with Kummara Limited and the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, aims to understanding local contextual factors associated with domestic and family violence (DFV)—what services exist and what services are lacking or in need of change in the Ipswich local area.
